Natural Light Portraits

Christmas is a great time for giving granny and grandpa a framed print of the grandchildren! And altho' it's pretty chilly at this time of year, the light can be particularly beautiful. All of these images were taken using natural light only.

Silver Sensation!!!

Am chuffed to bits one of my images won a Silver Award in the SWPP (Society of Portrait & Wedding Photographers) Awards in November 2009. Being awarded a silver by my peers means a tremendous amount to me, thank you...

Cara!

Had some fun today with Cara. Seeking out natural light in the North East in November can be a challenge - but with a bit of imagination and a very willing model we came up trumps today.

Cara is such a beautiful girl, and is great to work with. A downpour started about 5 minutes after we'd finished!

Autumn Light

My blog is a place where I can share what I get up to in my spare time, and this usually involves having a camera in hand. This afternoon Richard, Millie and I took ourselves along the railway line at Culter in the outskirts of Aberdeen's West End. There has been so much rain recently that all the fields are flooded - fabulous if you're a swan!! You never know what you're going to see but can only capture it if you have your camera with you.

I don’t think I’ll ever tire of going to gigs and listening to live music - have uploaded some pics taken from Frank Turner (ex Million Dead front man) and Brett Domino gigs. Was really chuffed when Leeds College of Music asked to use one of my images for an article on the Trio - all the band members studied there. If you've got a couple of minutes have a look at their very funny 'Stylophone Beatbox Hip-hop Medley'... it's had over a million views on You Tube already - incredible.
